ERIN MCLAUGHLIN

Erin’s practice focuses on energy and environmental law.

LEGAL EXPERIENCE

Prior to joining McDowell Rackner Gibson in 2024, Erin worked as a Trial Attorney at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s Office of Administrative Litigation.  Erin also clerked for United States District Judge Margaret Strickland and Chief United States Magistrate Judge Gregory Wormuth at the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico.   

REPRESENTATIVE WORK

  • Advised investor-owned utilities on general rate case and other regulatory matters before the Public Utility Commission of Oregon.

  • Advised utilities on statutory compliance matters, including compliance with Oregon’s Renewable Portfolio Standards Statute.

  • Advised utility in connection with interconnection dispute at Public Utility Commission of Oregon.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES

  • Member of the Colorado State Bar.

  • Member of the Oregon Women Lawyers.

EDUCATION

Erin graduated from Cornell University in 2018 with a B.A. in Biology and Society and a minor in French Studies. At Cornell, Erin was a two-time Academic All-Ivy League honoree, was inducted to the 400 Club, and made the Dean’s List multiple times.  Erin also was an Undergraduate Research Assistant, Division I Student-Athlete and Cross Country Team Captain, and Biology Service Leaders volunteer.

Erin graduated in the top 10% of her class from University of Colorado Law School in 2021.  During law school, Erin was an Articles Editor on the Colorado Law Review, Student Attorney in the Getches-Green Environmental Law Clinic, and Rothgerber Teaching Fellow.  Erin served on the board of the Environmental Law Society and volunteered with the Acequia Assistance Project.  Erin completed over 100 hours of public service work during law school and was awarded the Law Alumni Scholarship and Don W. Sears award for her contributions to the law school community.
